Fjords and oceans: my review of globe-trotting Urban Decay Born To Run Palette

Hello beautiful creatures!

Tbh, I have a soft spot for make-up palettes. All inhibitions go away when I both buy and test them. I passionately keep an eye on new arrivals so eyeshadow palettes by Too Faced, Anastasia BH or Urban Decay won’t go unnoticed. I’ve got a separate drawer for Kat Von D products and using them for my eye make-up simply calms me down. Yeah, I know I could find a cheaper and less eccentric way to keep calm… but thanks to giving in to my obsession, I can tell you this and that about make-up novelties.

Recently, I came across Urban Decay Born To Run Palette. Was it worth purchasing? What’s so untypical about it? What’s the look achieved? What possibilities does it give? Enjoy my review.

Let’s open Urban Decay Born To Run Palette! First impressions

The product comes in a beautiful, very original kit. The packaging holds photos of the most stunning corners of the world which have been an inspiration for the creators when choosing the colors inside the palette.

Born to Run colors are cut out for the globe-trotters. The sunset in Greece, azure of Norwegian fjords, breathtaking hues of amber-color beaches, oriental seasonings, vivid Japanese gardens… Girls, you can have it all with this very palette!

Inside the palette, you get as many as 21 colors having intense pigmentation and saturated shades. The selection of colors was a nice surprise for me. This palette gives numerous possibilities in make-up. You’re treated to matte, satin and pearl shadows which amaze with the variety of colors. I think each one is very unique and simply beautiful.

Urban Decay Born To Run – colors & pigment

New palette by UD stole my heart. This variety of colors is amazing. They are so varied that you can create endless looks and make-ups.

Born To Run also contains a few classic, basic nude shades which are matched so as to create a flawless everyday look or use them as a primer for intense colors, and we’re actually spoilt for choice here. The palette holds warm, amber, brick and orange colors, classic highly-pigmented black (cut out for night smokey eye) as well as shades of pink, violet, azure, green, dark brown, metallic charcoal… in other words, all colors of a rainbow are captured in one gorgeous box.

Urban Decay Born To Run – the look

What is the look you get with Born to Run? It is simply a masterpiece. The colors have a powdery consistency, brilliant pigment, are easy to apply and blendable, long-wear and non-flaky. A tiny amount is enough to create the desired look: the colors stay where they’re put and each one spreads well.

If new palette by Urban Decay gets to your make-up kit, you must try it both in classic nude version and a bolder look: two purple shades make a perfect match with brick or slightly orange color (still shot) as well as with dark brown (e.g. riff).

Azure or green fjord-inspired make-up? It’s really easy as the green shades perfectly blend with each other and make an ideal composition with shades of brown, beige or metallic charcoal.

Born to Run isn’t just about “majestic and grownup” colors. We can use it to create a youthful look by choosing dusty gold or intense rose. There’s also a color which has been a thing recently, that is metallic blue, going along with a denim outfit.

Where did you go last summer? Was it the French Riviera or Norwegian fjords? Maybe you feel like showing it off with your make-up? 🙂 Have you ever used Urban Decay palettes? What’s your opinion? Are the mind-blowing 21 colors an endless source of inspirations for you too? Please leave a comment!
