I’m 100% sure that you have at least one phial of your beloved perfumes. I know people who have over 10 phials! That’s something. Still, no matter the number of fragrances you love, they have to be applied correctly. Do you know how to wear perfumes? If no, then I advise you to read my mini-guide concerning perfumes and their proper use. Today, you’ll learn how to make the fragrances stay true for longer. Also, I’ll try to give you a hint how to enhance your favorite aroma. Ready? So let’s begin.
How to store fragrances?
Trust me, perfumes should be kept in a cool and dry place. Putting a phial in a bathroom is a bad idea – this room is humid and warm. Also, you shouldn’t put your perfumes on a dressing table because this is where they are exposed to the sunlight. In such conditions, fragrances lose their properties, their colour either fades away or becomes darker, and the essential oils that some perfumes contain start splitting.
How to apply fragrances?
The best time for applying perfumes is after leaving bath/shower, when your body is warm and skin is a little bit swollen. This is how you help the aroma of perfumes linger on skin for longer. Basically, it’s a good idea to use the perfumes on wrists, neck, nape, inner elbows and knees, calves, ankles and cleavage. Remember though that rubbing a wrist against the other wrist after perfuming them isn’t advised. The warmth that you would generate encourages head and heart notes to vanish.
How to make your perfume last longer?
In this case, you shall make use of a well-known Vaseline. Apply it to the body parts that I enumerated above. In fact, fragrance-free body care products have similar effect to Vaseline, therefore you may reach for body milks, balms, creams and basically any other cosmetic that contains vegetable oils prior to spraying perfumes.
How to test perfumes?
Surely, you shouldn’t smell a few dozens fragrances on any given day. Reason? The aromas would blend so you won’t be able to tell them apart. In light of this, during one day try to test no more than three fragrances. Some people suggest sniffing coffee beans in between smelling the perfumes – this will help you distinguish the fragrances better. Also, you should take into consideration the fact that perfumes applied to strip papers may give you a false impression of how the product really smells. How is it possible? Simply, perfumes smell differently when applied to skin. Actually, the aroma of the same perfumes may differ from one person to another.
Are perfume testers worth using?
It’s worth realizing that testers don’t differ from the original perfumes at all – trust me. I know that many people say that testers are more concentrated and last longer. Okay, they are often sold without caps in a regular and simple bottles, but this is the only difference between testers and the full-size perfumes. The truth is, perfume testers come from the same production line as the regular perfumes.
