Which Mask for Damaged Hair Is Best? I Chose It!

Let’s face it, choosing a hair mask is challenging. We all know the cosmetic market is overwhelmed by hair care products. How do we know which hair mask is best and how to choose the most effective product?

It is hard, especially if your hair is damaged and needs enhancement from repairing substances.

Thankfully, I already know the best mask for damaged hair. I’ve tested the best-selling hair products and will now round up my top picks for you. I rate them for the ingredients, texture and effect. Do you want to know the names of the best hair masks?

THE BEST MASK FOR DAMAGED HAIR – NANOIL KERATIN HAIR MASK

 NANOIL KERATIN HAIR MASK

Nanoil hair mask with hydrolyzed, liquid keratin is definitely my number one. It is the most effective hair treatment out of all masks here. I still keep using it.

I was amazed by the elegance and simplicity of this product. The mask is light-textured, creamy and lasts me long because a little goes a long way. The formula contains the most essential ingredients for healthy hair and there are no needless additives. Nanoil Keratin Hair Mask is made from:

  • hydrolyzed keratin which strengthens and repairs the hair
  • panthenol, or a moisturizing and nourishing provitamin B5

It also holds some lightweight, easily-rinsed silicones. Thanks to them, the Nanoil keratin mask makes hair smoother, more manageable and easier to brush after the very first use. It let me get rid of unruly strands and my hair is no longer as frizzy as it used to be. Plus, the hair stopped splitting and breaking. I see only positives!

Another great thing is the mask takes little time to deeply repair the hair. If you decide on the Nanoil Keratin Hair Mask, all you need to do is apply it regularly after every washing. It’s a rinse-out product – remember about that.

Before I finish the rave review, you should also know that the Nanoil mask is very good value for money. However, if you don’t need products rich in keratin proteins because your hair isn’t harshly damaged, you can try one of the other four masks from Nanoil.

WHAT OTHER MASKS ARE WORTH TESTING? RANKING OF PRODUCTS

As usual, I need to share some alternatives. I’ve tested many masks and below you’ll find the ones I believe are okay.

MOROCCANOIL RESTORATIVE HAIR MASK

A strengthening mask which penetrates weak hair to rebuild damage from within. Designed for all hair types, especially for hair that needs nourishing, enhancement or shine boost. The Moroccanoil Hair Mask has a pleasant texture, smells wonderful, is easy to apply and makes hair easy to manage. Unsurprisingly, the product is based on argan oil – typical of the brand. It also contains shea butter and keratin.

ALTERNA CAVIAR REPLENISHING MOISTURE MASQUE

A hydrating hair mask by Alterna is a good choice if you have problems with super-dry hair and struggle to deeply moisturize it. The Alterna Caviar Replenishing Moisture Mask contains caviar extract, which is rare in hair products. It revitalizes the hair and inhibits oxidation. The formula is quite rich and the mask is creamy so it must be rinsed out if you want to keep the hair volume.

GOLDWELL KERASILK CONTROL MASK

Hair masks from Goldwell are popular at hair salons. Does that mean they’re worth choosing? It depends on the needs of your strands. The Goldwell Kerasilk Control Mask is definitely a good choice if your hair is unmanageable and frizzy. Because it’s rich in keratin and liquid silk, it makes hair smoother – the proteins also strengthen the strands. I think it’s one of the best hair masks but it didn’t last me long.

OUAI THICK HAIR TREATMENT MASQUE

If you’ve got fine hair, I recommend the Ouai Masque but you need to browse for it on the net because it’s hard to get it at physical stores. It’s a strongly-hydrating and strengthening mask for hair which tends to break and split. It contains two types of butter (shea and illipe), three vegetable oils (almond, olive, macadamia), and hydrolyzed keratin. The rich formula translates to effectiveness but it costs a lot.

WELLA SP LUXE OIL KERATIN RESTORE MASK

The oil-based hair mask by Wella is also worth mentioning but my hair tends to lose volume from an overload of oils. You can give it a try, though. The Wella SP Luxe Oil Mask combines the nourishing and protective effect of three oils (argan, jojoba and almond) with the regenerative potential of liquid keratin. The mask is creamy, easy to use and has a nice scent. Unfortunately it doesn’t last long so you’d need to restock often.

I believe other hair masks are worthless but if you’ve got some favorites and they’re not in my roundup, I’d love to try your picks.

Till next time!
